Afterlife

This song came out of imagining what life must be like after "the thrill is gone". Don't be surprised if you hear a bit of frustration in the lyric. We'll all be there someday.
Build those monuments to folly and graft.
We’re done with this planet gonna give it the shaft.
My company pays me to sit on a shelf.
The church can’t save me if I won’t save myself.

CHORUS:
Hello, AFTERLIFE, no need to turn.
Ever happy life, no more to learn.
I’m in AFTERLIFE with all this time left to burn -
Time left to burn.

Went to a college and got my degree
But nobody taught me how to keep lovin’ me.
My body’s failin’ no matter what I try.
They put a screw in my foot and a needle in my eye.

CHORUS:
Hello, AFTERLIFE, no where to turn.
Ever happy life, no more to learn.
I’m in AFTERLIFE with all this time left to burn -
Time left to burn.

My body’s failin’ no matter what I try.
They put a screw in my foot and a needle in my eye.

CHORUS:
Hello, AFTERLIFE (hello AFTERLIFE).
Ever happy life (ever happy life).
I’m in AFTERLIFE with all this time left to burn.
Time left to.

CODA (repeats twice and fades):
I’m in AFTERLIFE and I - I gotta whole lotta
Time left to, time left to, time left to
